Drive: 346km
Ride: 13km
Started the day with a 13 km bike ride.
First up was the climb up the hill (which happens to be a CAT 5 climb,
according to MMR) to Carlow sand blow.
The down hill was good though! We
then rode out to Carlow Point where Greg paddled yesterday and then came home.
After brekky and packing up, we left at 9:30 am. We had a late mornos at the Puma service
centre just outside Gympie and lunch was at the Eagleby Service Centre, South
of Brisbane. This was probably not the
best place to stop as we were sandwiched between two massive B-Doubles with no
breeze at all. No worries, we made and
ate our salads and were on our way.
The traffic through South Brisbane and the Coast was horrendous. Although it flowed nicely, there were lots of
vehicles, small and large, on the road, some behaving, others not being so
nice. We arrived at the Colonial Tweed Holiday
& Home Park (site #69) van park about 3pm and set up, unpacked and took a
walk around the park - there are more permanents than visitors at this park,
but the amenities are very clean.
Dinner was pre-cooked lamb stew and veggies. Bed followed soon after as we were both
buggered from the concentrating we had to do to get through the traffic.
